Wilson became an official supplier of the KES-BASKET School Basketball League

(MOSCOW, November, 9, 2012) Amer Sports and KES-Basket signed a partnership agreement. The 3-year long agreement is strategically important for both companies. Under this Agreement, Amer Sports, an owner of the legendary American Wilson brand, will produce a special Wilson Reaction basketball for KES-BASKET School Basketball League already by start of the new 2012–2013 season. The purpose of this partnership is to popularise and develop youth basketball in Russia.

We are very glad that with KES-Basket assistance students of 10,000 secondary schools throughout Russia will get the opportunity to train and to use high-quality basketball accessories in game, produced by Wilson. It is the Wilson ball that the worlds best athletes, such as Michael Jordan and Derrick Rose, used and continue to do so," said Tatiana Vetrova, CEO of Amer Sports Russia. “We are currently at the beginning of our cooperation which we plan to expand with an objective to make our own contribution to the youth sports development in our country."

KES-Basket and Amer Sports aim at attracting more children and teenagers into playing basketball. KES-BASKET Basketball League, which emerged in Perm Territory in 2007, is currently organizing basketball competitions amongst students of 50 Russian regions. The annual number of participants of those competitions is approaching 1.5 million.

In 2013, in the framework of this partnership, unique reference materials on basketball will be produced for both students and PE teachers through the joint efforts of KES-Basket and Wilson employees. The companies have also agreed to cooperate with a purpose to popularise basketball and to attract more children and teenagers into playing the sport. The League's best players will receive special rewards from Wilson upon season’s closing, including a trip to one of the European basketball camps.


KES-BASKET School Basketball League aims at encouraging a healthy lifestyle amongst students, fighting neglect, homelessness and drug abuse; popularising basketball and engaging students in regular athletic activities; spotting the most talented and brightest young sportsmen among Russia's Olympic reserve; improving the proficiency of secondary school teachers; modernizing sports equipment and facilities at secondary education institutions. The program's primary sponsor is KES-Holding.
