American Youth Football Championships Wrap Up in Florida

[Orlando] The American Youth Football Championships concluded in Orlando, Florida on December 10th.  Welcoming teams from across the U.S. the AYF Championships has become the largest football competition in the world.  3,500 athletes featuring players from the top 140 youth teams participated in the six day event from ages six to thirteen.
Since its inception fourteen years ago AYF has become the nation's largest youth football program with more than 650,000 athletes aged 5-16 playing on 18,000 teams in all 50 states. The organization's mission is to provide all kids with a place to play and use football as a means to 'give back' to the community.  In order to qualify for the National Championship event, coaches and league administrators participated in months of education, training and fundraising while players had to demonstrate excellence both on the field and in the classroom.  AYF President Joe Galat said  "We could have invited 300 teams to participate this week, which exemplifies the strong commitment to youth football from across the country."

As the official ball of the AYF, Wilson was on hand not only the  fields, but also at the Wilson AYF Gamers Lounge.  Allowing the kids to rest and relax while partaking in video games provided by EA Sports the lounge was a huge hit with both players and coaches.  Wilson also offered raffle prizes to every athlete, special AYF products, and information on exciting new products for coaches and parents.   The event was capped off with Championship Friday and was a huge success all around.
