First win for Steen Tinning. First win for New FG Tour prototype golf ball set to launch in 2014
CHICAGO, August 5, 2014 – As the first Dane to ever capture a Senior European Tour event, Steen Tinning relied on his Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons to clinch the Berenberg Masters last week. His debut win came after only six appearances on the Senior European Tour, and marks an initial victory with the new Wilson Staff FG Tour prototype golf ball.
“Ever since I started testing and playing this ball, I’ve gotten the perfect balance of low spin off the driver and great spin and control on approach shots,” commented Tinning after his round. “Wilson Staff is setting a new standard in its tour ball category and I’m thrilled to be the first to win with it.”
With a final round scorecard consisting of three birdies and fifteen pars, Tinning held off the field with a total of nine-under par. In addition to his Berenberg Masters victory, Tinning tied for fourth place at the ISPS HANDA PGA Seniors Championship. His recent triumph escalated his position nine places to fourth place on the Senior European Tour Order of Merit.
“With eight events remaining in the 2013 Senior European Tour season, we anticipate more great showings from Steen with the FG Tour golf ball, as well as obtain feedback in other developing products,” stated Doug Wright, Business Director of Europe. “This ball will continue to be tested by all our tour players and expected to be available in 2014.”.
