Anthony Wall

Opened the new millennium in style, claiming his maiden victory on The European Tour by capturing the Alfred Dunhill Championship in Johannesburg.

Dad, Tom, is a London cab driver.

Represented England at Boys and Youths level before turning professional in 1995 after being overlooked for full international honours.

As a 15 year old junior member at Sunningdale, he used to practise with Nick Faldo.

Captured Sunningdale Foursomes as an amateur in 1994 with Steve Webster, now a colleague on The European Tour.

Had only six starts in 1997 after being laid low by glandular fever.

Recovered to make his second successful visit to Qualifying School in 1997.

Recorded two top tens in 2003, including joint fourth in The Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters.

Celebrated the birth of his son Patrik in November, 2003.

Anthony had his best year in 2006, finishing 13th overall and 11th in The Open
