Wilson Next Generation UK In Action At Aegon National Junior Tennis Champs.
[LONDON] - The Next Generation of British-based Wilson players were in competitive action at the AEGON British Junior National Tennis Championships earlier this month, with some notable successes.
The national-level junior championships feature players in the 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under and 18 and under age groups. All matches take place on the clay courts of the West Hants Club in Bournemouth, with the exception of the 18 and under category which is staged on the acrylic hard courts of the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.
The future looks bright for Wilson, with Toby Martin swinging his Wilson Six.One 95 to victory in both the singles and doubles of the under 18 boys competitions. The singles final was an all-Wilson affair with Luke Bambridge (Wilson Blade 98) finishing as the runner up after a great week. The boys U18s was a strong event with 3 out of the 4 semi finalists using Wilson rackets: Toby Martin, Luke Bambridge and Scott Clayton.
Luke Hammond (pictured) completed a double win in the under 12 boys category, swinging his Wilson Blade 98 to win both the singles and doubles. In the singles Luke defeated fellow Wilson athlete Thomas Wright (Wilson Six.One Team) in the singles final before the two combined to defeat Will Davies (Wilson Tour) and Joe Tyler in the U12 Doubles.
In the girls under 18s, 2010 National Singles winner Pippa Horn (playing with a Wilson Six One Team) and her partner Ruth Seaborne emerged victorious in the doubles competition. In the under 16s category, Peter Ashley (Wilson Pro Tour) was a runner up in the boys doubles, with Alice Keddie (Wilson Six One Team) one half of the winning girls doubles pairing.
