Great Britain Win Junior Davis Cup With Wilson Next Gen

[LONDON] – Great Britian’s Junior Davis Cup team made history at the beginning of October, winning the tournament for the first time.

The team, coached by Greg Rusedski defeated Italy in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on Sunday 2nd October to complete the historic achievement having reached the final in 2009 only to lose to Australia.

The team contained two of Wilson’s next generation with Luke Bambridge (swinging his Wilson Blade 98) joining Kyle Edmund (swinging his Wilson Six.One 95) and Evan Hoyt en route to defeating Thailand, Germany, Canada and France as well as runners up Italy.

Edmund said of the victory: "It's great to win and be world champions. As a team we played really well all trip and it showed today."

Britain's Junior Fed Cup team of Katy Dunne (Wilson Pro Open), Pippa Horn (Wilson Six.One Team) and Beth Askew were defeated 2-1 by Romania to finish 14th in the competition.
