Tour & Juniors Manager (Americas)
Location: Chicago USA
This position is responsible for building Wilson's presence on Tour for all tennis categories in North and South America. This will be achieved by an effective management of current Wilson Tour players and an active role in recruiting the next generation of Tour players. This position will also be responsible for the development, communication and implementation of Wilson's Tour and Juniors strategies throughout the Americas, and for the support of Wilson's marketing focus to leverage investment in Tour players.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:
- Effectively manage available resources to support Wilson's business through players endorsements
- Manage Wilson's Tour and Junior players in order to build and communicate Wilson's leading position on Tour
- Increase brand awareness and strengthen Wilson's image amongst Tour and Junior players by leveraging the Wilson name, legacy and quality of products - Contract negotiation and management for Tour & International Junior players from the Americas
- Scout and recruit top global prospects
- Directly manage local Juniors program for the U.S.
- Work with Business Managers and local market staff to implement Tour and Juniors strategies and develop recruiting infastructure at younger ages
- Helps align our overall youth tennis/grassroots strategy and approach as pathway for the Brand to reach the competitive Junior and Next Gen players
- Develop strategies to effectively communicate Wilson's position as a leader on Tour and within junior tennis through various social media
- Organize and periodically communicate Tour & Junior player information for North and South America
- Manage on site players operations and services at the Australian Open, the Sony Ericsson Open and the U.S. Open
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Marketing, Communications, or Business
- Experience playing tennis at professional or high-level college
- 2-3 years work experience, tennis industry, communication or marketing preferred
- Experience using social media as a marketing tool
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication skills are necessary to build relationships with individuals in various countries and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to think creatively and formulate plans to increase brand awareness in young athletes
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects/tasks
- Ability to think strategically and execute with excellence
- High energy level is essential
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross-functional teams/ matrix environment
- Proficiency in Windows, Excel and Word
- Ability to travel 80-100 days a year (50% will be international travel)
- Conversational in Spanish preferred
