Technician
Location: Hillsboro, OR USA
This position performs building and testing of product and/or components and is responsible for the creation and modification of engineering drawings, as well as setup of test equipment and completion and maintenance of test logs and related documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:
- Setup test equipment and conduct tests of components
- Modify Drawings to match precise part specifications
- Evaluate component performance
- Communicate test results to engineering team, verbally and in writing
- Proper handling of expensive and sensitive materials
- Build fiber reinforced composite prototype parts
- Build prototypes as defined in spec sheets
- Cataloging prototypes for future reference
- Observe and record test results and processing details
- Analyze test results in relation to design, specification, or test objective
- Understand work instructions and specification for product fabrication
- Operate industrial equipment to fabricate experimental parts for testing
- Ensure all safety guidelines are followed in the lab areas and continually suggest new ways to reduce/eliminate hazards
- Participate in status and design review meetings
Education/Experience
- Two-year college degree in technical field and/or two years test-related experience

- Experience with Solidworks and/or other drafting software
- Meticulous and detail oriented
- Solid time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks; self-initiating
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal skills)

- Ability to take ownership for mistakes (individual must be able to build on strengths and work on deficiencies)
- Ability to comprehend and execute basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, etc.)
- Ability to learn operation of various test equipment (UTM & related software, etc)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Windows XP/7
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specification sheets and drawings
- Mechanically inclined with good problem solving & trouble shooting skills
- Must be comfortable in a lab environment and capable of operating test equipment
