Business Manager, Tennis & Badminton Softgoods (Asia)

Location: Shanghai Asia

Manage tennis and badminton softgoods categories (apparel and footwear) and oversee any regional product initiations for the Asia region.  Ensure alignment to global strategies and category specific regional range plan needs in order to achieve consolidated net sales, margins, EBIT, and inventory planning targets for the region. Drive the go to market process and planning elements (by category) including direct involvement with key customers.

This position works closely with the respective Footwear & Apparel category teams and Wilson HQ to contribute towards the development of product strategies, pricing, and inventory management plans in order to achieve the revenue and profitability expectations of both footwear and apparel categories for the market.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:

  • Lead the I2P and GTM process for the category in the region
  • Work with Amer country managers and Wilson Sales Managers in the region to optimize brand strategies, OPEX, planning, and operational aspects
  • Partner with sales to identify business development opportunities as they relate to the overall Asia region apparel and footwear strategy
  • Ensure that brand + category strategies are clearly communicated and implemented with each country organization in the region
  • Demonstrate expert understanding of technical features, end use, and performance benefits of each footwear and apparel product
  • Drive the budgeting, planning and forecasting process in the region for the designated categories / areas of responsibility
  • Gain a complete understanding of price/value relationship of each product and collection positioning.
  • Directly involved in key customer planning and management aspects
  • Oversee product line plans and appropriate mix for the region by category
  • Support product launches / sales meetings as well as marketing events
  • Plan and execute pre-line presentations with key accounts
  • Provide market feedback, conditions, and reporting
  • Lead product initiation process for the region, when neccessary

 

 


Education/Experience


  • Bachelors Degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years experience in product management, product development, sales, and/or marketing, apparel industry experience preferred
  • Strong sales & marketing background and skills for consumer products is preferred

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities


  • Strong knowledge of competitors and their products
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to communicate and work effectively across regions and cultures
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross-functional teams/ matrix environment
  • Strong English language skill
  • Mandarin language skill is a key advantage
  • Ability to travel approximately 30-40% in region and internationally
  • Global/cross region/cross cultural experience preferred
