Global Planning and Operations Manager

Location: Chicago USA

  • Manage and develop global Racquet Sports planning team; ensure consistent process and tools and efficient work with other functional groups within Wilson and Amer
  • Ensure key initiatives / actions driven across planning teams (e.g. complexity reduction, DSI, SKU efficiency)
  • Directly handle the planning duties for a specific category to ensure supply & demand plans align, and communication & support meet service and business expectations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:

Operations/Planning Manager duties may include:

  • Develop a consistent planning approach, including reports and tools utilized for all planners / categories (USA and globally)
  • Drive processes and actions to achieve key operational strategies:  Complexity Reduction, DSI, SKU efficiency
  • Liaison with Wilson / Amer operations team to align and achieve Racquet Sports objectives
  • Liaison with Sales & Service leaders (USA) and teams to ensure ongoing service and support provided to achieve Racquet Sports objectives
  • Manage Warehouse/Service initiatives/issues
  • Ensure planning team is integrated in I2P process working with product and commercial teams

Global / USA Planner duties may include:

  • Work with commercial and product team to understand the category range (key stories/big contributors/image products)
  • Contribute to demand plan (ongoing) through systematic reconciliation with markets forecasts and financial targets
  • Align demand plans with supply plan / capacity requirements
  • Build production supply plan to meet service requirements & financial targets
  • Consolidate and communicate demand plan across markets with commercial teams, brand and financial leadership
  • Provide category analysis working with product & commercial teams future range and business plans
  • Challenge range efficiency with product & commercial teams
  • Provide pro-active communication on inventory position, any supply delays and solutions to mitigate


Education/Experience


  • Bachelors Degree (BS/BA) or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years experience in production planning, operations and/or accounting
  • Sporting goods industry experience a plus
