Alignment Rods/Sticks

Posted May 08, 2015 in beginner intermediate distance tips

Alignment is crucial for your golf swing. Alignment rods/sticks are used to make sure your feet and shoulders are parallel to your golf club. You may use one for your feet and one for your golf club. Your shoulders will follow your feet, in alignment. If your feet are open to the clubface, you will tend to swing on that path, producing a fade. If your feet are closed to the clubface, you will swing on that path, producing a draw. A square set-up is one of the first steps for your golf swing. The more you practice with alignment rods/sticks on the range, the easier and more natural it will be to get your alignment correct on the course.
