Wild Card Entry Led to Upset of Top-Seeded Defending Champions

Combining energy and power with her mixed doubles partner, Jack Sock, Wilson Exclusive Tour player Melanie Oudin won the 2011 US Open Mixed-Doubles title, beating the eighth-seeded team Gisela Dulko and Eduardo Schwank of Argentina in a third set super-tiebreak, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 10-8. Oudin-Sock saved four of the five break points they faced. Oudin plays with a Wilson Blade 98 Pink and is a brand ambassador for Wilson apparel and footwear.

The19-year-old Oudin had previously garnered support from tennis enthusiasts in 2009 when she reached the women’s quarterfinals and continues to attract attention with her powerful forehand and fighting spirit.

Oudin, currently ranked No. 144 in the world in singles, is playing next week in the third annual Lexus of Las Vegas Open, a $50,000 USTA Pro Circuit event, taking place Sept. 27-Oct. 2 at the Red Rock Country Club.
