Custom Gloves for Ozzie Albies, Michael Harris & Atlanta

Following his sensational sophomore campaign, Atlanta outfielder Michael Harris II couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw his name stamped in the palm of his A2K® MH23 Game Model glove. The Georgia native designed his newest custom Wilson glove with Navy Blue Pro Stock® Select leather and camouflage SuperSnakeSkin™ in shades of Neon Green, Red and Blue.

“My name’s on a glove,” Harris said. “Yeah, that’s pretty sick.”

Harris’ 12.75” outfield glove, modeled on the A2K 1799, features a sturdy Dual Post Web and a deep pocket for corralling fly balls.

“It catches the ball for me, really,” Harris said. “I’ve just gotta get there and it’s impossible for it to miss the web.”

Harris had the logo for his Catch 23 Foundation embroidered on his glove. The outfielder’s organization is focused on combating the stigma of mental illness and stems from Michael’s passion for helping underserved communities.

With another All-Star season under his belt, second baseman Ozzie Albies returned to an all-Red look for his A2K OA1 Game Model glove. After using full Pro Stock® Select leather gloves early in his career, Ozzie has adopted SuperSkin on some of his latest custom gloves.

“The 11 ½” has been great for me, so I keep using it,” Albies said. “I love the SuperSkin in the back.” Ozzie said he’s found gloves with SuperSkin are able to keep their shape while staying lightweight and easy to break in.

On the thumb of his glove, Ozzie had his father’s name, “BOLLY,” embroidered in Yellow.

“He’s the one that inspired me to play baseball,” Ozzie said. “He was there with me in everything and always believed in me.”

Outfielder Jarred Kelenic, who joins Atlanta from Seattle after an offseason trade, picked up a pair of custom A2K 1799 gloves. One 12.75” glove featured Red & Navy Blue Pro Stock® Select leather while the other featured a cleaner Blonde look.

“This one is dirty,” Kelenic said while admiring his Red & Navy Blue A2K. “These turned out gorgeous.”

Relief pitcher A.J. Minter, a Wilson lifer, has trusted the brand with his glove since childhood. For 2024, he customized an A2K® D33 in Red Pro Stock® Select leather.

“My dad got me a Wilson, that just kind of resonated with me and I wanted to go with Wilson when I became a professional,” Minter said. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Pitcher Ian Anderson, making his return to the field from April 2023 Tommy John Surgery, customized an A2K® ASO with Black Pro Stock® Select leather and a flash of Red on the index finger.

“I love the way the all-Black looks,” Anderson said of his A2K® ASO. “I tried to throw some Red in there, maybe make it a little more flashy, but this’ll be fun to break in and get to usey.”

Aaron Bummer, who joins Atlanta from Chicago’s south side after an offseason trade, picked up a pair of custom A2000® GG47 pitcher’s gloves, made famous by Gio Gonzalez. Bummer and Gonzalez were part of Chicago’s pitching staff in 2020.

“Ever since I played with him, I feel like I owe it to him,” Bummer said of his A2000 GG47.

To break in his new gloves, Bummer brings them to the practice fields for catch and long toss with his teammates.

“Everybody throws hard enough these days where it takes a day and a half at this point,” Bummer said.
