10 Wilson Softball Advisory Staff in Athletes Unlimited

Learn about Cat Osterman and the Wilson Advisory Staff competing in Athletes Unlimited Softball.

All-time great pitcher Cat Osterman will take the circle on Saturday, August 28, 2021, looking to conclude her incredible career with a title defense in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League. She will join nine other Wilson Fastpitch Advisory Staff — Ali Aguilar, Aliyah Andrews, Sis Bates, Amanda Chidester, Courtney Gano, Aubree Munro, Aleshia Ocasio, Kelsey Stewart & Anissa Urtez — competing in the five-week season in Rosemont, Illinois.

Osterman dominated the 2020 Athletes Unlimited Season, tallying 95 strikeouts in 72 innings pitched. She fired six complete games, including a 16-strikeout effort on September 21. Osterman, a three-time Olympic medalist who claimed a Silver Medal with USA Softball at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in July, will pitch with her fresh custom A2000® P12 Fastpitch Softball Glove. Her 12” custom glove for the season features black Pro Stock leather, a nod to her first-ever A2000. It includes a Texas A2000 palm stamp to represent her Houston roots and college career in Austin. It also includes accents of Blue, Orange, Purple and Gold – the four team colors used in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League.

Several of Osterman’s USA Softball teammates will join her in Athletes Unlimited. Aguilar, Chidester, Munro and Stewart were all part of the Silver Medal team for the Americans. Aguilar, who uses a rare custom fastpitch A2K, is playing her first Athletes Unlimited season. Chidester, a super-utility player and former Michigan standout, brings a packed glove bag to Rosemont and can be seen playing catcher, first base and outfield during the Athletes Unlimited season.

Munro, USA Softball’s starting catcher during the Olympics, is playing in her second Athletes Unlimited Season. In 2020, she caught both base runners who attempted to steal against her, and she made no errors in 11 games behind the plate. Stewart, also playing her second Athletes Unlimited season, flashed the leather in 2020 and returns in 2021 with her custom A2000 KS7 GM.

Ocasio is returning to Athletes Unlimited after placing 11th overall in the 2020 season. The two-way player was among the top pitchers a season ago, posting an 8-4 record and earning team captain honors twice. On the mound, she’ll sport her custom A2000 with White Pro Stock leather and Navy Blue SuperSkin. When she’s not in the circle, she’ll be roaming the outfield.

Anissa Urtez, the world’s top shortstop who earned All-Olympic Softball Team honors after a historic run for Mexico in Tokyo, returns for her second Athletes Unlimited Season. The star infielder is well known for her glove. During the 2020 Athletes Unlimited season, she posted a 1.000 fielding percentage on 38 chances.

Gano, a USA Softball veteran and former University of Washington standout, is making her Athletes Unlimited debut in 2021. The utility player won the 2018 Japan Cup Gold Medal and the 2018 USA Softball International Cup Bronze Medal with the Americans.

Rookies Aliyah Andrews and Sis Bates, both new members of the Wilson Fastpitch Advisory Staff, will make their Athletes Unlimited debuts in 2021. Andrews, known as “Air Aliyah” for her regular diving plays at Louisiana State University, earned 2021 SEC All-Defensive Team honors as a senior. Bates, one of the best shortstops in college softball history, begins her pro career after twice earning the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year award at the University of Washington.
