Golf Swing Tips: Putting Distance Control Drill

Learn how to be a better putter with Wilson Advisory Staff Member Clayton Brown. Watch his method for putting distance accuracy.

One of the most challenging areas to adjust is your putting force. Controlling your stroke from varying distances takes practice. One method to work on your putt is to give yourself a control drill that consists of several balls placed at three-foot increments to the pin.

For instance, place the first ball at three feet from the hole, the second ball at six feet, the third at nine feet, and so on. Start by hitting the closest ball and work your way back.

This method allows you to judge your putt force and build muscle memory for better accuracy.
