How to Style Joggers

Whether you're looking for technical performance, pure comfort—or a blend of both—we've got you covered. Here are four ways we recommend styling your joggers this season.

How to Style Joggers

In the pursuit of the perfect wardrobe, one often aims to strike a balance between sophistication, comfort and style. However, let’s face it; achieving this trifecta can be quite the challenge. In a world where fashion meets function, we increasingly find ourselves gravitating towards laid-back essentials that seamlessly transition from one facet of life to another.

That’s where joggers come in– the unsung hero of any athlete or active individual's closet.

And don’t confuse joggers with sweatpants. Joggers often are made with a lighter weight material and feature a tapered cut—these features are exactly what give joggers the upper hand when it comes to style points.

Whether you are hitting the gym or running errands post-play, joggers have got you covered. They’re versatile enough to pair with a clean tee and structured blazer for a clubhouse-ready look, or to throw on with an oversized sweater when you’re heading to the grocery store. The choice is yours, but one thing is certain: in both settings, you’ll feel as comfortable as you do stylish.

As we transition into the upcoming season, here are four ways we think you should rock your joggers.

1. MATCHING MONOCHROME SET

Let’s start with the easiest look to pull off: a matching monochromatic set. This is a look that will never disappoint. There's just something that feels so put together about a matching top and bottom.

Monochrome outfits have been in style for sometime now, and that's probably because the single-hue garments offer a relaxed (but refined) lounging, or post-workout look.

Think black and neutral colors for a more sophisticated look, or consider a colorful monochromatic set if you are looking to have some fun and stand out. A matching set is an easy way to look put together without even trying.

For women, try our Wilson America Sweatpant with Wilson America Warm-up Hoodie. These pieces were handcrafted in LA, and are made with a heavyweight cotton that feels lived-in from the start.

To dress up the pairing, consider adding some statement jewelry pieces, a bold pair of sneakers or even an elevated bag.

For men, consider the Wilson America Jogger or Heritage Sweatpant. Both options come in a variety of neutral colorways. The Heritage Sweatpants offer a straight-leg cut that can be cinched at the bottom for a jogger style.

2. Casual & Cozy: On-The-Go Chic

This next look takes the monochrome outfit to a new level.

First, find a neutral pair of joggers. You can’t go wrong with a nice heather gray or beige. Pair these pants with either a matching tee or sweatshirt, and finish the look with a dressy trench coat.

The trench is a forever fashion favorite seen across the runways and the streets. It will elevate your jogger, and it serves as the perfect layering piece.

Want to feel even more fashionable? Pair your neutral jogger with a lightweight polo, knit sweater and the trench. This preppy layered look will add an extra element of refinement and give you even more confidence heading out of the house.

Don’t be afraid to accessorize. Add a baseball cap or fanny pack or belt bag to make the look a bit more sporty and streetwear friendly.

If you aren’t feeling the trench coat, consider pairing your joggers with a blazer. You can go with an oversized blazer if you want to go for a trendier look, or a structured blazer if you’re feeling more formal.

3. Vintage Layering

Ok, not to brag, but if you are going to take any style inspo from this article, let it be this— vintage, tenniscore inspired leisurewear is our forte.

As a brand with over 100 years of history, we know how to masterfully combine traditional technical wear with elements of vintage streetwear.

Hop on our favorite trend by pairing casual joggers with a vintage-inspired, oversized letterman jacket. Or even consider pairing your joggers with a cropped tee and cardigan.

One of our absolute favorite jackets to consider is the Hudson Bomber and Hudson Cropped Varsity Bomber— two retro-inspired, timeless pieces that can be easily thrown over a polo or tee. The knit cuffs and collar sign off with an extra dose of comfort and sporty style.

For women, pair our Fly Jogger with our Central Varsity Jacket, and round out your outfit with a fresh pair of chunky sneakers and tall socks.

For men, style our Tennis Club Cable Crew or Westport Cardigan with our Midway Travel Cargo Jogger.

4. Trendy & Sporty: Streetwear Style

A few trends converge to make the ever so popular tracksuit trend worthy— the big one being athleisure, which has morphed from wearing sneakers with your business formal attire into going to work dressed like Adam Sandler. There’s also our obsession with the 70s and the 90s, two decades that saw sportswear explode.

While tracksuits were designed for athletes' warm-ups, even if you may not be taking the court and breaking a sweat, the tracksuit style maintains a sport-inspired aesthetic for those that love to be connected to the game. If you’re just in it for the aesthetics, try pairing the track suit with other non-sport items.

Donning a tracksuit might seem intimidating at first and maybe it's not for everyone— but at the end of the day it’s supposed to be fun. There are so many different jogger, track suit combos out there, so play around!

For women, some of our favorites are the Randolph Relaxed Jogger and Randolph Half-Zip Sweatshirt.

For men, try our Grand Slam Jogger LTE with our Grand Slam Jacket for a modern take on the iconic tennis warm-up outfit.

More simply put, tracksuits are an iconic style that have survived several decades. If you are looking for an uber-sporty look that makes a bold statement— the tracksuit might be just the style for you.
