The BNP Paribas Open is in full swing! Read on to find a recap of some exciting events Wilson took part in leading up to the iconic Indian Wells Masters.

Leading up to the BNP Paribas Open, we took part in three different and exciting events! From creating the world's largest tennis ball, to sponsoring a celebrity tennis charity event, Wilson Tennis has left their mark on the California Desert.

1. Low Desert Open

WHEN: March 3-5, 2023

WHERE: The Courts

WHO: Recreational players, creatives, tennis fans

Wilson is proud to have supported The Court’s 2023 Low Desert Open.

Tennis players of all levels and backgrounds took to the beautiful four-court facility in the middle of the California desert. The weekend long event is a celebration of sports, art, and the great outdoors.

Not all individuals in attendance came to play — many attend this lively open to enjoy drinks, food, time by the pool, music, and more.

The venue, The Courts, is a scenic drive from Palm Springs, San Diego and Los Angeles. The courts, clubhouse and pool sit on 5 acres of land with views of the San Ysidro Mountains.

2. The Big Wilson Ball x The Courts

WHEN: March 2- TBD

WHERE: Borrego Springs, CA (Coachella Valley)

This creative display was a site specific, contemporary art exhibition that was held in the Coachella Valley.

Wilson teamed up with The Courts and Ricardo Breceda to create the world’s largest tennis ball. Over 100 of Breceda’s large-scale sculptures can be spotted around Borrego Springs, and locals call him the “Picasso of Steel.” The ball’s shape references boulders of Culp Canyon and rocks of the desert washes.

The sculpture is 12 feet high and composed of lacquered metal. The ball was installed roadside along Palm Canyon Drive, the town’s main thoroughfare.

3. Desert Smash

WHEN: March 7, 2023

WHERE: La Quinta Resort

WHO: Celebrities and Professional Athletes

This year Wilson was a proud sponsor of Desert Smash— a charity celebrity tennis event where Hollywood and professional tennis collide.
