2023 Wilson Glove Day with Tim Anderson & Chicago

See new A2K and A2000 ball gloves for Lance Lynn, Tim Anderson and Chicago’s south side.

Equipped with a new collection of Wilson ball gloves, Chicago’s south siders are locked in for the 2023 season. Tim Anderson, Lance Lynn, Dylan Cease and other stars elevated their glove game in Chicago’s Armour Square. Anderson, Chicago’s game-altering shortstop, designed a new A2000 TA7 Game Model glove for the season.

“Real dope. It’s fresh,” Anderson said. “It promotes itself. I ain’t really have to say anything.”

Featuring a Red Pro Stock® leather palm, a Grey Reinforced H-Web, Grey SuperSnakeSkin™ and Red & White Gradient Bold Logos, Anderson’s A2000 TA7 GM pairs perfectly with Chicago’s uniforms. The infielder prefers the A2000 G4 model with a Reinforced H-Web because it adds structure to the glove.

“This will probably be the one that I’m going to be rocking with,” Anderson said while holding the Grey and Red A2000. “I’m very detailed with the colors, with the logos, just with the way we make everything pop.”

Starting Pitcher Lance Lynn, who loves spending time outdoors, customized a special A2000 with camouflage SuperSnakeSkin™ panels.

“I like to hunt and all that, and we were able to put the hunting logo in the middle here,” Lynn said.

“We were able to make the pocket deeper just so there’s no tipping pitches,” Lynn said. “It came out awesome. I love the color combo and it goes well with the uniforms too.”

Cease customized an A2K ASO, a 12” glove with a closed web.

“I love how it looks. I like how it feels,” Cease said. “I can tell it’s going to break in easy.”

Relief pitcher Joe Kelly customized an A2K D33, personalizing his glove with his children’s initials on the thumb. He placed a pro sleeve over the middle finger to prevent tipping pitches. When breaking in his glove, the pitcher prefers to keep the leather stiff to maintain its shape.

“I honestly like it to be more close to brand new,” Kelly said. “Just enough to catch a comebacker.”

Pitcher Aaron Bummer customized his own A2K ASO with brick Red Pro Stock leather. The lefty prefers the A2K ASO pattern for its pocket size and solid web.

“I’m a big fan of the ASO web,” Bummer said. “I feel like it gives me a little bit more structure. It’s got a little bit of a deeper pocket. I feel like I’ve got a little bit more room in there to hide some pitches.”

Gavin Sheets customized a new A2000 1620 for work at first base and an A2000 1806 for repetitions in the outfield. Both gloves featured Black Pro Stock leather and White accents.

“It’s my favorite day of the year, every year,” Sheets said. “The leather is great. They look great. Obviously, I kept it a little subtle with the color scheme.”
