Custom Wilson Gloves at Baltimore Glove Day

Check out new gloves designed for Gunnar Henderson, Heston Kjerstad and more.

Infielder Gunnar Henderson, coming off a Rookie of the Year campaign in 2023, created a custom Wilson glove to match his personality in 2024. The Baltimore phenom personalized his glove with camouflage SuperSnakeSkin™ while his teammates picked up new A2K® and A2000® gloves with splatter paint SuperSnakeSkin™, metallic Gunmetal Pro Stock® leather and more.

“This might be my new favorite glove,” Henderson said. “This fits right into my personality. I’m a big hunter so I was very glad to be able to see this on the website.”

The sophomore infielder has used the A2000® EL3 for years, relying on the glove model’s single post web when handling third base or shortstop. He prefers the A2000 EL3 over 11.5” glove models for its extra reach on the infield.

“This one’s 11 ¾” and it fits perfect for me.”

Outfielder Colton Cowser also customized his glove with a unique material, opting for splatter paint SuperSnakeSkin on his A2000 1799. The Houston native said he prefers this glove model for its feel and durability in the outfield.

“I went with the A2000 this year, and it’s got the Texas emblem in it,” Cowser said. “I love the way they break in.”

Utilityman Jordan Westburg, who split time between second base and third base with Baltimore in 2023, picked up a Blonde A2000 1787 for 2024. The 11.75” glove is versatile enough for either side of the infield.

“This is my normal model, the (A2000) 1787,” Westburg said. “I play a little bit of everywhere on the infield, so for me it’s deep enough to play third, shallow enough to play second and short.”

Heston Kjerstad showed up to camp with the February Glove of the Month, an A2000 1777 outfield glove with Seafoam SuperSkin™. He picked up two new custom gloves – a Blonde A2K® 1799 outfield glove and a Blonde A2000® 1883 first base mitt. He worked with Master Glove Craftsman Shigeaki Aso to begin breaking in his gloves for the season.

“He did his thing with it,” Kjerstad said. “I saw his videos on YouTube growing up. I’d always watch it and try to break in my glove like he does, but he’s definitely way better at it than me.”

Infielder Ramon Urias customized his new A2K® 1786 with metallic Gunmetal Pro Stock® leather.

“This one is pretty cool,” Urias said. “I’ve never seen one like this and you want to be shiny in the infield.”

Cuban relief pitcher Cionel Perez customized his A2K B2 in Orange and Black. To prepare his glove for the season, Perez said he might follow a popular practice from childhood in Cuba.

“In Cuba, we had a special thing where we’d place a ball inside the glove, fold it and put it under the bed on the side where you sleep, and then sleep on it,” Perez said. “They’d be ready in two days”

Relief pitcher Yennier Cano customized an A2K B23 and an A2000 B23 for 2024. The Black and Orange gloves feature a modified wrist strap for a more secure fit while pitching and fielding.

“I think they’re really special,” Cano said. “I look great in them, feel very comfortable and they fit my hand, so I’m really happy.”
