Sean Doolittle's Crazy Custom A2000 Gloves
New Wilson Advisory Staff member, Sean Doolittle, has created a pair of unbelievable custom A2000s.
Long considered one of the best guys in baseball, left-handed pitcher Sean Doolittle joined the Wilson Advisory Staff this winter – and he’s already leaving his mark. How? Besides his off-the-field contributions to the community and world, at large, it turns out Sean is a master at creating one-of-a-kind custom A2000 gloves.
Although he hasn’t gotten to take the mound with one in a game yet this year, the southpaw has a pair of custom designs under his belt, each equally impressive. Let’s take a look:
Sean’s first creation was inspired by one of his favorite iconic jam bands. Phans will know the one. Suffice it to say it’s a bold look that you quite literally can’t miss. Sean’s model of choice is an A2000 XLC, which turns back the clock with a classic look. Designed with a Dual Hinge Web, pitchers prefer this glove for its deep pocket – perfect for concealing grips. Sean went with Orange Tan Pro Stock Leather with Mariner Green lacing – an eye-popping combination.
Doolittle's second custom-designed A2000 XLC, too, draws on his love for classic rock. This second glove has a much more traditional look – with some never-before-seen stitch work. This Saddle Tan beauty pairs perfectly with new bold red logos, lacing, and stitching. Timeless.
As you can see, Sean worked with Wilson Ball Glove Product Manager Ryan Smith to get an embroidered rose where the traditional Wilson ‘W’ logo would sit on the thumb – and he also took advantage of the new ring finger personalization option in the custom glove builder by adding another rose, complete with vines.
When baseball returns, you can bet we’ll be locked in to see Sean take the mound with one of these customs. Stay tuned to our Instagram page – there’s another design coming your way from the lefty soon…
