We are proud to have our Wilson NBA Official Game Ball take the world stage at each of the 2022-2023 NBA Global Games, as it represents another step towards our mission to celebrate and elevate basketball around the world. Being Bonded By Ball means we live at the intersection of sport and diverse culture, and we are dedicated to the democratization of basketball around the globe. Wilson Basketball’s global impact can also be seen in the BAL and FIBA, among other initiatives.

Basketball Africa League

Wilson is the official ball of the Basketball Africa League, a professional league operated by the NBA and FIBA featuring 12 club teams across Africa. The official ball of the BAL is inspired by classic African patterns and features nods to African heritage.

FIBA

As 3x3 grows in popularity, it evolves the sport of basketball. It crosses over courts all around the globe as a catalyst for change. Wilson has continued the trend of innovation by keeping the ball as fresh and new as the game to which it belongs, diverging from the pillars of the sport that remained unchallenged. Such as, what a basketball can be, how many players are on the court, and if we play to a time or a score. The official Wilson FIBA 3x3 ball has the same weight as the standard size 29.5-inch ball you know and love but is built in a 28.5-inch form, tailored to fit this style of gameplay.

2022 NBA JAPAN GAMES

The Washington Wizards and the Golden State Warriors recently made their first trips to Japan. The two teams competed against each other on Friday, September 30th and Sunday, October 2nd, which marked the NBA’s 15th and 16th games played in Japan.

The Warriors, the defending NBA Champions, were led by two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry and 2017 NBA Defensive Player of the Year and four-time NBA All-Star Draymond Green.

The Wizards were led by three-time NBA All-Star Bradley Beal, 2018 NBA All-Star Kristaps Porziņģis and 2020 NBA All-Rookie Second Team member Rui Hachimura, who, in 2019, became the first Japanese player in league history to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft.

The two exhibition gameswere played at Saitama Super Arena, located within an hour of Tokyo.

The Warriors, led by a team-high 20 points from James Wisemen, won the first game 96-87.

On Sunday, the Warriors outscored the Wizards by 20 points in the fourth quarter to fuel a 104-95 comeback victory in front of a sold-out crowd. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 17 points in 17 minutes.
