Building Tim Anderson’s 2022 A2000 Game Model Baseball Glove
See what Chicago shortstop Tim Anderson loves about his most recent Wilson A2000 TA7 Game Model baseball glove.
Chicago shortstop Tim Anderson embodies the city’s famed swagger with his personality and play on the south side, making a lasting impression with his A2000® TA7 GM 11.5” baseball glove. Anderson commands the infield – and the city’s attention – with his bold performances and his custom glove. Featuring Grey Pro Stock® leather and Black & Grey SuperSnakeSkin™ finger panels, the A2000 TA7 GM is designed to mirror Tim’s character.
“It’s nothing too crazy. I’m really simple,” Anderson said. “It’s super cool. Super dope.”
To give his glove a splash of color that matches Chicago’s uniforms, he outlined White Bold Logos with Red stitching.
“It sticks out. The red pops a little bit. I mean, look how cool it looks,” Anderson said while pointing to the logos.
Anderson’s gamer checks in at 11.5”, a popular length among middle infielders. This length, which parallels Wilson gloves like the A2000 G4, allows Anderson to comfortably make plays to both his left and right.
“I feel like it’s the right fit for my hand,” Anderson said. “I don’t like anything too big or too small.
With Comfort Pro Fit and a Pro Lux™ leather palm lining, the A2000 TA7 GM forms to the shape of a player’s hand as he breaks it in. Anderson, coming off a 2021 All-Star campaign in the Windy City, prefers the 11.5” infield glove pattern because it provides the perfect amount of control.
“The whole goal is to feel as one with the glove, and my hand fits perfectly in there. I’m able to control the glove more and make it feel like I’m catching it barehanded.”
Based on the A2000 G4, the A2000 TA7 GM boasts a reinforced H-Web, an innovation on Wilson’s classic H-Web. The web design features an extra bar across the middle for additional support.
“I think this web holds (its shape) a lot more,” Anderson said. “With this web, you don’t really have to do a lot of maintenance to it. It pretty much lasts as long as the glove.”
Day in and day out, Anderson takes repetition after repetition on the infield dirt, perfecting his craft. With durable Pro Stock leather, the A2000 TA7 GM is engineered to handle frequent use.
“I’m an infielder, so you’re always in the dirt,” Anderson said. “You take pride in your gloves.”
The Second City shortstop decided to add SuperSnakeSkin™ to his 2022 glove. Invented by master glove craftsman Shigeaki Aso, SuperSkin™ is extremely durable, resistant to moisture and half the weight of Pro Stock leather. Anderson incorporated SuperSnakeSkin into his custom glove after seeing the material on José Abreu’s game model first base mitt – the A2K® JAB79 GM.
“You want something that’s going to last,” Anderson said. “The SuperSkin was definitely something I wanted to try. This material feels like it’s going to last forever.”
To personalize his A2000, Anderson included his signature TA7 logo. The logo appears on the inside of the thumb, stamped into the Pro Stock leather.
“To finally see my logo actually on a Wilson glove, that’s super cool,” Anderson said. “It definitely means a lot to me.”
