Custom Gloves for Pittsburgh Stars at Glove Day

The best defensive third baseman in baseball picked up his newest custom Wilson baseball gloves for 2024 at Pittsburgh Glove Day in Bradenton, Florida. Ke’Bryan Hayes, winner of the 2023 Fielding Bible Award for Defensive Player of the Year, received his latest custom A2000® KBH13 GM while his Pittsburgh teammates picked up their own custom Wilson baseball gloves for a new season in the Steel City.

New for 2024, Hayes picked up a Blonde A2000 KBH13 GM with SuperSnakeSkin™ and Spin Control™ Technology in the palm.

“Lately I’ve been loving the SuperSnakeSkin just because it’s light,” Hayes said. “This year I got the Spin Control. The ball doesn’t really move around a whole lot. The name holds up well.”

Hayes, who took home his first Rawlings Gold Glove Award® in 2023, has no plans of slowing down in 2024. Per The Fielding Bible, Hayes led all third basemen in Defensive Runs Saved with 21 in 2023.

“To be able to win a Gold Glove in the major leagues, not too many people get to do that. It’s definitely motivation to just keep working hard, and it’s an extra bragging right for my dad. He never won a Gold Glove, so I got to rub that in his face.”

Center fielder Bryan Reynolds added a pop of red to his custom A2000 1799, a nod to the hint of red in Pittsburgh’s team logo.

“It came out well. This is sick,” Reynolds said “It’s probably my coolest one. I usually go for the safer colors.”

Reynolds, who usually breaks in his glove through normal use like catch and game action, expects the A2000 to be ready for the season opener at the end of March.

“It’s going to be my Opening Day glove, so I’ve got some work to do,” Reynolds said.

Relief pitcher David Bednar created his custom A2000 D33 with a distinct salute to Pittsburgh – an icon of the Clemente Bridge embroidered on the thumb of his glove.

“It’s always cool to have that as kind of a little focal point,” Bednar said. “The black and gold, the number and the name on the thumb as well, it’s just a clean glove to get all the yinzers going.”

Jared Triolo received a custom 11.5” A2000 1716 for 2024. Triolo, who split time between first base, second base and third base in 2023, wanted a smaller glove for the keystone.

“I usually rock a 12” when playing third base, but I played a little bit of second base last year and thought I should go down a little bit,” Triolo said.

Bullpen arm Colin Holderman customized a trio of 12.5” A2000 B125 gloves for the new season. Two gloves feature Yellow Pro Stock® leather, while the third glove is all-pink for a potential Mother’s Day game. Each of his custom gloves feature an Autism Speaks Love the Moment stamp in the pinky to share a message of understanding & acceptance for people with Autism.

“The biggest one is the Love the Moment in there. The Autism Speaks (stamp), that’s really big for me. My older sister has special needs, so that means a lot and I get that in every single one of my gloves.”
